//Snoop Dogg - EMA Host 2007

Hip hop legend Snoop Dogg took up the reins to host Europe’s biggest music event – the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 Munich.

After his stunning performance at the EMAs in 2006, it wasn’t in doubt that Snoop would bring some of his unique ‘DoggyStyle’ as he guided us all through the night’s awards.

From arriving in a pimped-up motor, to performing on stage and hanging with a jacuzzi packed with Snoop-loving ladies, Munich was treated to the full unique Snoop Dogg style and one that made the 2007 EMAs a night to remember.

Dave Grohl also part-time co-presented from the on stage VIP bar, after his band Foo Fighters kicked off the show with their massive hit ‘Pretender’.

//Depeche’s Dave Gahan

Dave Gahan, lead singer of English super electro band Depeche Mode has been through more than most. As well as fronting one of the most successful bands in history – winning last year's 'Best Group' EMA, 26 year's and 13 albums after their formation was quite an achievement – but his personal and private life has been the stuff of legend. A rock and roller of the old school, his forthcoming second solo album 'Hourglass,' which features hit single 'Kingdom,' looks set to blow the crowds away again. We are extremely proud to have had Dave present our Video Star Award in Munich.

//Introducing Joss Stone

Presenting your Inter Act Award at the EMAs 2007, Joss Stone is a singer songwriter who needs no introduction - certainly not after naming her third album 'Introducing Joss Stone.' Rolling out of Dover, in the South East of England, Stone's been the sobering half of the UK's latest soul revolution. Despite not having Amy Winehouse's self-destructive streak, Joss has managed to keep the lost-heart sound that makes the genre so distinctive. A stunning voice, well beyond her tender years, has landed her some high profile fans and world-wide collaborations.

//The Legend Michael Stipe

Wyclef shot to fame as one third of the phenomenal Fugees, whose 1996 album 'The Score' was a thoroughbred classic! Bumping beats, elegant melodies and three of the most lyrically gifted rappers of their generation combined for a moment of genius. Though the group disbanded pretty quickly, Wyclef has managed to tie 'The Score' with his solo success. Wyclef's list of collaborators runs like a who's who of modern rap with just about anyone who's anyone lining up to work with the Haitian. With a distinctive voice and genuine instrumental skills Wyclef has produced some of the most musical hip-hop of recent years. No wonder we wanted him to give away the Ultimate Urban Award!

//Good Charlotte Boys

Benji and Joel Madden from pop-punk veterans Good Charlotte also made it to the Europe Music Awards 2007. The identical twin brothers presented the Album of the Year Award on the big night in Munich. Having supported Lit and Blink 182 in the late 1990’s, Good Charlotte released their self titled debut in 2000. However, it was with the 2002 follow up, ‘The Young and the Hopeless’, that the band won mainstream popularity. ‘Morning Revival’ is Good Charlotte’s latest and fourth album, which was released in March 2007. The album debuted in the top ten of 13 countries worldwide, giving the American five-piece some of their highest international chart positions so far.

//Serj From System of a Down

Vocalist and multi instrumental rocker Serj Tankian from System of a Down released his debut solo album just a few weeks prior to presenting your Rock Out Award 2007. The Lebanese-born musician, songwriter and poet have had a busy year releasing the single ‘Elect The Dead’ and touring with his live band ‘The FCC’. The name of the band stands for the ‘Flying C**ts of Chaos’, which is originally what Tankian wanted to call his debut solo record. Having already released five albums with the brilliant System of a Down, Serj took a day off his busy solo tour schedule on November 1st to join the EMA celebrations in Munich.

//Boom Boom Boris

To much of the world Boris Becker typifies the German way – focussed, calm, methodical, driven to succeed and completely ginger. But more than that, the man just knows how to win – or more to the point, he doesn't know how to lose. Former World Number 1, Boris Becker's six Grand Slam wins and Olympic Gold put him firmly in the hall of sporting legends. Germany's best loved sporting hero, Boris Becker also sits on the board at his beloved Bayern Munich. At the EMAs 2007, he gave away the Headliner Award.

//On Thursday It’s Craig David

Craig David's big kick into the spotlight came from his hook-up with fellow garage act, Artful Dodger, on their breakthrough track 'Rewind'. As well as a bucket-load of sales they managed to hit the nation's vibe, triggering a trend for hand-waving imitations and 're...re...wind' impersonations. The track catapulted Craig into an immediately successful solo career and his first release 'Fill Me In' made him the youngest make artist to debut at No 1 in the UK at the ripe age of 19! Mark Hill from Artful Dodger has been a long term co-writer and they both sprang from the south coast town of Southampton, where both are keen Saints fans.

//British Supermodel Lily Cole

Despite making her name as a model after being chased through Soho by a scout she thought was just a 'dodgy guy,' Lily Cole has gone a lot further than your average catwalk coat-hanger. Her latest break is into the cinema where she'll be following a role in St Trinian's with a hefty part in a Marilyn Manson directed re-telling of the life of Lewis Carol, and as if that wasn't enough she'll then be working with Heath Ledger in Terry Gilliam's latest fantasy epic The Imaginarium of Dr Parnissus. The supermodel was in Munich to present the Band of 2007 Award.

//Napoleon Dynamite Star

After getting his break in Napoleon Dynamite, Jon Heder had the honour of playing none other than the Dark Knight himself in a spoof short commissioned for the world's favourite music channel – which is us, by the way. Since then he's been on ice in Blade of Glory, attended the School for Scoundrels and been used as a Benchwarmer. But it's not just in the big name movies that Heder's been making waves, Moving McAllister was a quirky low budget flick that resulted in rumour of the poor lad's untimely death! He debunked them not too long after though by appearing in front of the world's press. He further reassured us by appearing at the EMAs to present the Solo Award.

//R&B Sensation From Destiny’s Child

Kelly Rowland's career kicked off when she was a part of R'n'B outfit Destiny's Child. When the group disbanded it looked like her and Michelle Williams' careers would be kicked into touch by Beyonce. But becoming the biggest girl band of all time, and selling almost 60 million records worldwide, was no one girl show and Kelly made sure we all knew this when she dropped tracks with Snoop Dogg, Eve and won a list of awards as one half of the team that brought us 2003 smash hit 'Dilemma.' Looks like they were Destiny's Children after all...
Didier Drogba

//Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba is one of the most prolific strikers in the English Premiership. Despite coming under fire when he first arrived, for being inconsistent and, some said, for going down like a sack of spuds at the slightest whiff of a challenge, the man from the Ivory Coast has become one of the most feared finishers in the game. Strong, powerful, sharp and consistent he's silenced the doubters and impressed the world. Rumoured to be unhappy with Jose Mourinho's departure, there will chairmen across Europe reaching for their chequebooks to secure the autograph of the man his friends call Tito. On 1 November 2007, Didier joined us in Munich to present an award.
Nelly Furtado

//Nelly Furtado

She may be promiscuous but this is one girl who knows how to make the most of her talents. So much more than just a pop act, Nelly's been reinventing her style like a mini-Madonna and has become one of the most popular collaborators in the US, and a favourite of the legendary Timbaland. She came back at us in 2006 with the album 'Loose', which was then followed by a critically acclaimed sell out world tour. At the EMAs 2007, Nelly helped us reveal the hottest New Sound of Europe.
Jared Leto

//30 Seconds' Jared Leto

There are people who are so talented it's ok to hate them – and then there are people for whom you just gotta don your hat. Jared Leto is the latter. Launching himself in 'My So Called Life', Jared Leto reached super star status with the release of critically acclaimed movie 'Requiem For a Dream', and has gone on to appear opposite Jodie Foster, Colin Farrell and Nick Cage. As if all that wasn't enough, he and his brother thought they fancied a jam – hell, everyone wants to play in a rock band – so they formed 30 Seconds to Mars and rocked the world all over again.
